in 2003. Highlights of his performing career include the
national tours of
Kiss Me, Kate (Fred Graham) and
The Scarlet Pimpernel (Dewhurst/Percy US),
the regional premier of Frank Wildhorn’s The Civil War (Confederate Captain),
Brigadoon (Tommy)
, Drood (Jasper), The Secret Garden
(Dr. Craven),
Calamity Jane (Wild Bill)
and the title role in 2002
off-off Broadway production
of
The Robber Bridegroom.
On the operatic stage he has performed with Opera
Illinois and Sarasota Opera.
As a writer and composer, Dexter’s credits include
The
Business of Passion,
Non-Equity,
Life...as a Musical,
KillerJazz and
The Pineapple Principle.
Recent directing credits
include HMS Pinafore,
State Fair,
There
Goes the Bride
and The Happiest
Millionaire. Dexter has served
as Assistant Managing Director
for the Northern Lights Playhouse
and Executive Director of
The
November Ten since its
inception. A Princeton,
Illinois native, he now
resides in Princeton
with his wife,
The
November Ten co-founder,
